Sara is the owner/teacher/team coach of Sara Kate's Dance Studio.  She also teaches classes from preschoolers through adults and coaches our Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald dance teams.  She started off at Merrilee Studios in Metamora at the age of 2 taking ballet class quickly followed by tap the next year. After moving to Eastside Centre's dance and tumbling program at 6 years old, she began taking jazz and tumbling as well as ballet and tap.  She has also been trained in hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, character, pointe, pom and clogging. She had been a member of competitive dance teams for 12 years, was on a clogging show team, was on her school's dance team, had been an assistant teacher for several years and had taught classes and coached a competitive dance team prior to owning her own studio.
Sara Kate's Dance Studio was established in 2014 and has been growing ever since!

Lauren teaches many of our tap classes, hip hop classes and is our hip hop teams coach, Opal Team coach and assistant coach for the other dance teams.  She also helps teach tumbling and fills in with other classes as needed.  She started taking ballet class at Eastside Centre the summer just after she turned 3 years old then added jazz, tap and tumbling that fall.  At 8 years old, she was invited to be a member of a competition dance team and continued competing for 10 years ending in the 2020 season.  She has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, clogging, hip hop, pom, pointe and tumbling.  She was a member of the CJHS Wildkit dance team in junior high and was a member of the EPCHS Raiderettes dance team for her whole high school career.  She had been an assistant teacher for two years here at SKDS before becoming a full time teacher for our recreational students and coach for our team students. Watching her grow from student to full time teacher has been an amazing experience and we can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Brooklynn began assisting with the Ruby team in 2024 and teaches their contemporary dance.  She started dancing at 9 years old in 2014 with us when the studio first opened and began dancing competitively in 2016.  She's taken tumbling, hip hop and pom classes but mainly focused on jazz, lyrical, contemporary and tap during her time dancing.  Her final year dancing was in 2024 after competing for 8 seasons and deciding to switch to teaching after being an assistant for a year. In the years to come, she hopes to branch out and begin choreographing jazz and tap classes as well as contemporary and would like to teach contemporary solos and duets. She's done a great job so far growing from student to teacher and our rubies enjoy having her help coach them!

Kenzie is a junior at East Peoria Community High School and is going into her 9th year dancing for us. Her passion for dance started when she was 3 years old and continues to grow each year.  She was a member of the Wildkits dance team at CJHS and is currently on the Opal team here at SKDS.  Over the years she has been trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tumbling, tap, musical theater, lyrical and contemporary.  She has been an assistant teacher here for the past 4 years and is excited to be a lead teacher this year for some of our youngest kids. She really enjoys helping our young dancers develop a passion for dance, to help them grow in their skills and to create new memories for everyone! We've really enjoyed watching her blossom and grow as a student and as a teacher!

PictureAlaina Hosbrough

Alaina is currently a college freshman studying Elementary Education while teaching a few of our 13 and up classes this year! She started dancing taking tap at another studio when she was 4 years old and added jazz the following year.  In 5th grade, she started taking classes with us taking a ballet class then adding pom the following year.  She has training in pom, jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap and pointe. She was also on our Sapphire competition team for the 2024-2025 season and has performed a few solos. She's also helped us as a fill in assistant when she was needed. During high school, she was a member of the East Peoria Raiderettes Dance team and the captain her senior year.  She's excited to finish her education and become a teacher while keeping dance in her life.  We're excited to have her help this year!
